Please share any inquiries you may have for Jane Horrocks.

The revelation of Bubbles’ impressive singing abilities in the 1998 film Little Voice, portrayed by Jane Horrocks who had previously gained recognition for her role in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice on stage, surprised many. The dramatist Jim Cartwright, who wrote the lead role specifically for Horrocks after hearing her sing Judy Garland and Shirley Bassey songs as she prepared for her role in his first play Road, played a key role in her success.

Horrocks has become an integral part of the nation, both on screen and in person. She has lent her voice to animated characters such as a knitting-loving chicken in Chicken Run and a duck in Garfield, alongside Bill Murray. In live performances, she has appeared in productions such as the Proclaimers musical Sunshine on Leith and the sports comedy Swimming With Men, starring Rob Brydon. On stage, she has showcased her talent in Stephen Poliakoff’s Sweet Panic and the music revue If You Kiss Me, Kiss Me, featuring songs by Joy Division, the Smiths, and Buzzcocks. Her TV roles include playing a hologram with a strong libido in Red Dwarf (much to Rimmer’s dismay) and voicing the Tubby Phone in the 2015 reboot of Teletubbies.

During the holiday season, Horrocks will be returning as Babs the chicken in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. Additionally, she will be featured in a special edition of Blood Actually: A Murder They Hope on UKTV Gold. If you have any questions for her, please share them in the comments below and we will print her responses here and in Film & Music on Friday, December 8th. The deadline for submissions is 12 noon GMT on Tuesday, November 28th. Thank you!
