The White House, under President Joe Biden, has shown compassion and solidarity towards the Princess of Wales following her statement about undergoing treatment for cancer.
During a Friday press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s press secretary, conveyed her wishes for Catherine to make a full recovery.
She informed us that we have received devastating news. Our hearts go out to the Duchess of Cambridge, her loved ones, and friends as they face this challenging situation. We sincerely hope for her complete recuperation.
Jean-Pierre expressed the significance of maintaining the privacy of the royal family, in response to widespread speculation, particularly on the internet, regarding the reasons for Catherine’s recent low public visibility.
The princess shared that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy in a video recorded by the BBC at Windsor Castle gardens.
According to her, the cancer was initially detected following a significant abdominal operation in January.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Catherine in the past few months. Some major news outlets questioned the authenticity of a photo she shared on UK Mother’s Day featuring her children, George (10), Charlotte (8), and Louis (5).
Catherine expressed regret for any “misunderstanding” and admitted to having edited the image herself using digital tools.
During the video, Catherine shared that she and Prince William needed to talk to their children about her health.
“I kindly ask for your understanding that my family and I require time, space, and privacy during my treatment,” she stated in the video. “Though my work has always brought me great happiness, I will have to step away for now in order to fully heal. I eagerly anticipate returning when I am able, but for the time being, my main priority is recovery.”
The princess reassured her children that she will be fine, as she and William have informed them.
“She expressed that she is doing well and improving daily by directing her attention to activities that aid in her recovery – in mind, body, and spirit.”
Currently, I am also considering those who have been impacted by cancer. To all who are dealing with this illness, in any form, please do not lose your faith or hope. Remember that you are not alone.
