The family of Asake is urging the singer to make a plea to his fans following the crush at Brixton Academy.

The relatives of a victim who died in a stampede at a concert in London are asking the artist to reach out to their followers for any details about the incident, which took place one year ago.

On this date last year, Gaby Hutchinson, 23, and Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, lost their lives in a crowd surge at the O2 Brixton Academy while trying to see Nigerian artist Asake. The incident occurred when numerous ticketless fans were reportedly allowed into the venue.

The location was in danger of being shut down permanently following an incident, as the Metropolitan police advised the council to revoke its license. However, it was able to remain open under the condition that it adheres to 77 new, thorough, and stringent requirements imposed by Lambeth council’s licensing subcommittee.

Kelsey Hutchinson, age 26 and from Billericay, Essex, asked Asake to assist the police in their investigation by encouraging his followers to share any helpful details.

She stated that the singer holds a great sway over his audience and supporters, and believes that the most effective way to assist the police would be for the singer to encourage them to share any information or recordings from that night. She emphasized that even the smallest detail could be beneficial, and emphasized the singer’s significant influence in this matter.

Asake has honored the victims but has not made a request for details about the incident.

“The artist has yet to formally acknowledge our family,” stated Hutchinson.

The Metropolitan police have shared surveillance footage of individuals they would like to have a conversation with regarding the crowd incident. As of now, the police have detained one person in connection to the probe, in October.

Hutchinson’s sister, Nina, along with her parents, Yetunde Olodo and Anthony Ikumelo, have made a new request for any information related to the case.

Anthony Ikumelo, a 63-year-old resident of Canning Town, expressed his belief that there are still many unresolved questions and he encouraged individuals with knowledge to come forward.

The speaker shared that they are unsure about the circumstances surrounding her death and are still waiting for details. They emphasized the importance of obtaining this information as soon as possible in order to prevent similar tragedies from occurring to others in the future.

A 60-year-old resident of Stratford named Olodo expressed the desire for justice. He explained that Rebecca, who has two young children, is currently missing. The children are starting to ask questions about their mother’s whereabouts and when she will return. Olodo and the family are struggling to explain the situation to the children, who are only five and seven years old. Their main hope is for justice to be served and for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The lead detective, Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney, stated: “We are continuing to work diligently and tirelessly in order to determine the precise circumstances of this devastating incident. We have conducted interviews with specific individuals and companies that we suspect are involved in the tragedy.”

Asake representatives have been asked to provide a statement.
