Statement from Mrs. Diana, Princess of Wales regarding her cancer diagnosis Mrs. Diana, the Princess of Wales, has issued a statement concerning her cancer diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales has disclosed that she is currently receiving chemotherapy for cancer. She shared this information through a video message released on Friday evening.

Please provide the complete statement:

I would like to express my gratitude for the kind messages of support and for your understanding during my recovery from surgery.

My entire family has gone through a difficult couple of months, but I have been fortunate to have a wonderful medical team who provided me with excellent care. I am incredibly thankful for their support.

In January, I had a significant abdominal operation in London and it was initially believed that my condition was not cancerous. Fortunately, the surgery was a success.

After the procedure, the results showed the existence of cancer. As a precautionary measure, my healthcare team recommended that I receive a round of preventative chemotherapy and I am currently in the initial phases of this treatment.

The news was a surprise and William and I have been working to handle it in private for the well-being of our children. As expected, it has been a gradual process.

It took me a while to heal from a significant medical procedure before I could begin my treatment. However, what was most significant was the time it took to talk to George, Charlotte, and Louis about everything in a way that was suitable for them and to assure them that I will be alright.

I have communicated to them that I am doing well and improving each day by prioritizing activities that aid in my recovery of mind, body, and spirit.

Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

We ask for your understanding that our family needs time and privacy while I undergo treatment.

My job has consistently brought me great happiness and I am eager to return once I am able, but currently I need to prioritize my complete healing.

During this moment, I am also considering those whose lives have been impacted by cancer. To all those battling this illness, in any manifestation, please do not lose your trust or optimism. You are not on your own.
