King Charles, 75, who is also being treated for cancer and was in hospital at the same time as Catherine in January, spoke of his pride at her “courage in speaking as she did”.

As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”
The reason for William’s absence from his godfather, King Constantine II’s memorial service in late February was due to his cancer diagnosis, which he considered to be a private matter.
