A male teenager was fatally stabbed in the heart of Birmingham.
According to the West Midlands police, they received a report about a 17-year-old found with serious injuries in Victoria Square on Saturday around 3:30pm. The individual was taken to the hospital but unfortunately passed away.
The authorities are currently conducting a homicide inquiry, however, no individuals have been taken into custody.
The barricade surrounding the location has been removed, but the police will still maintain a noticeable presence in the vicinity.
Inspector James Spencer expressed his condolences for the loss of a 17-year-old boy and shared that their thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones during this difficult time.
At this point, the investigation is in its initial phases. However, our team of expert detectives is diligently working to uncover and apprehend the individual responsible for this. We are aware of the distress and worry this may cause, and while we believe it to be an isolated event, there will continue to be a noticeable police presence in the city center.
Authorities are seeking information from anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or potentially captured photos near The River statue by the Council House, as it could be crucial evidence.
