A male suspect has been apprehended for the alleged homicide of a minor in Darlington.
On Friday at approximately 9am, authorities were contacted to respond to an incident on Frosterley Drive. A one-year-old child was discovered at the location and was quickly taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Unfortunately, the child passed away on Saturday afternoon, according to Durham police.
A female in her forties has been taken into custody for potentially causing or permitting severe harm to a minor. The male, who is in his thirties, has also been arrested for possibly causing or permitting serious injury to a child.
The police stated that both individuals have been released on conditional bail while additional investigations are conducted.
