A man has been brought to court to face charges of murdering his wife in North Berwick.

A 37-year-old man appeared in court for the accusation of murdering his wife on New Year’s Day.

Naso, also known as Keotshepile Isaacs, was discovered deceased at a residence in North Berwick, Scotland on January 1st.

Her husband, Mompati Dodo Isaacs, entered no plea to the charge of murder at Edinburgh sheriff court on Friday afternoon. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again in the next eight days.

On January 1st at 8:20am, authorities were alerted to a residence on Craigleith Avenue in North Berwick due to a reported concern. Emergency responders declared Naso deceased upon arrival at the location.

On January 2nd, Mompati Dodo Isaacs was taken into custody for his suspected involvement in the death of his wife.

Naso Isaacs, who hails from the village of Otse in south-east Botswana, is reported to have three sons and has resided in the UK since last year.

A resident informed the Sun: “In North Berwick, this type of tragedy is unprecedented – it has deeply affected the entire community.”

The authorities arrived at this location on the morning of New Year’s Day and have remained here ever since. She was a caring mother to her sons, who must be extremely distraught.

Fellow individuals from Botswana honored the passing of Naso Isaacs on various social media platforms following the announcement by local media. Bambi Motsomatshukudu penned: “As we mourn, may we allow Naso Isaacs’ lovely spirit to find peace in the Lord.”

Buciecieweh Boitshepho Thabangana added: “It is painful. May your beautiful soul rest home girl.”

According to Police Scotland, they received a call at 8:20am on Monday, January 1st, 2024 regarding a concern at a residence on Craigleith Avenue in North Berwick. Emergency services responded and a 33-year-old woman was found deceased at the scene. A 37-year-old man has been taken into custody in relation to the death and investigations are ongoing.
