Jannik Sinner secured back-to-back tournament wins by defeating Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-4 in the final of the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam.
Sinner, who played for the first time since winning the Australian Open, only lost one set throughout the entire competition. He also hit 23 winners against his Australian opponent, recovering from losing a break advantage in both sets.
Sinner’s 12th victory at the tour level will result in him moving up to No. 3 in the ATP rankings on Monday. This win extends his winning streak to 15 matches and also marks him as the first Italian male to reach such a high ranking in history.
In another location, the 23-year-old underdog Facundo Díaz Acosta completed an impressive streak at the Argentina Open in his home country. He defeated third-ranked player Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 6-4 to claim the championship and earn his first ATP Tour title.
Díaz Acosta successfully defended against all six break points and secured the remarkable victory on his sixth championship point. In the semi-final, Jarry eliminated Carlos Alcaraz.
