Michael Bolton stated that he was recovering at his residence following a triumphant surgery to eliminate a brain tumor during the holiday season.

The American musician stated that he was putting in effort to speed up his healing process, but due to the diagnosis and surgery, he had to temporarily pause his touring.

In a statement posted on Instagram, he said: “Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumour, which required immediate surgery.

“Thanks to my amazing team of medical professionals, the surgery was a success. I am currently recovering at home and surrounded by the immense love and support of my family.”

The singer, who has won two Grammy awards, announced that he will be focusing on recovering for the next few months.

Bolton, 70, was due to perform on 1 February at the Murray theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Florida, with six tour dates in February, before three in both March and April.

It is still uncertain if Bolton will perform as the headliner at London’s O2 Arena on July 25th with special guest Bonnie Tyler as planned.

The announcement stated: “It is always difficult for me to disappoint my fans or reschedule a show, but rest assured, I am putting in effort to speed up my recovery and return to performing as soon as possible.”

“I am incredibly thankful for the immense love and support that you have consistently shown me over the years. Please know that I hold your encouraging messages close to my heart and I will provide further updates as soon as possible.”
