A win signifies that the campaign will continue until the weekend of the Cup semi-finals, at the very least. Considering the Premier League season concludes a month after, and with the possibility of United making it to another Cup final if they defeat Coventry at Wembley, it is reported that Ratcliffe – in charge of the club’s football operations – and his main associate, Sir Dave Brailsford, believe that Ten Hag should be allowed to stay until the end of the season before any permanent decisions are made regarding his fate.
Ten Hag is currently partaking in discussions concerning the team and preparations for the upcoming transfer season, at the request of Ratcliffe and Brailsford to ensure his input is taken into consideration.
Even though Ten Hag’s contract will still have one year remaining during the off-season, Ratcliffe is aware that finding a replacement, if he chooses to do so, will be difficult.
The Guardian was informed that Gareth Southgate is a potential candidate, but both Ratcliffe and Brailsford view him as only one of several individuals in the sport who hold this level of prestige.
