If you could become a TV or film character – either one you’ve played or not – for a week, who would you be? Doartpho

Right now, I wish I could transform into Mary Poppins. She is highly capable and I could really use some help tidying up my apartment. Spending a week as her would be a huge relief. I am also curious about the current whereabouts and activities of Chloe Gemell from My Mad Fat Diary. Her innocence was something I found delightful.

What differences would there have been in your iconic characters if you had portrayed them using your authentic Liverpudlian accent? TopTramp

It is likely that they would have had significant differences, however I believe Villanelle (from Killing Eve) would fit well as a scouser. The use of accents was necessary for the character’s transformation, but I particularly enjoyed using my own accent in Help and Prima Facie. I used to believe that I needed to alter my accent in order to distance myself, but now I realize that is not the case. Therefore, I have been thoroughly enjoying acting with my natural accent recently.

As a Pisces, which is considered the most imaginative zodiac sign, what would occur if you documented your most vivid dreams and transformed them into a script?
I find the idea unsettling! I have a very active imagination and often have vivid dreams. While working on Prima Facie, I consistently had a nightmare where I was performing on stage, but the ceiling was too low, forcing me to hunch over throughout the entire play. It wasn’t until the first preview that my anxiety dreams finally subsided.

Did the Broadway production of Prima Facie have a problem with importing Pot Noodle, since it was not featured in the opening scene? – RachelC

The director, Justin Martin, was constantly searching for the perfect opening. However, when we reached Broadway, he decided to make some changes. I was relieved because during the filming of the National Theatre Live version, the noodles were dry and caused me to choke on my first bite. My eyes were watering for the first two minutes and I feared I would have to stop. Once the Pot Noodle was finished, I was grateful.

“What methods do you use to maintain a sense of safety when portraying complex and emotionally demanding characters?” – MarwaKobeissi

We often neglect things that we truly need, such as taking a relaxing bath, preparing a nutritious meal, getting enough rest, listening to music, or lighting candles. These activities can help calm our nervous system after a long day of work. I have a habit of getting completely absorbed in my job and losing sight of everything else. It’s crucial to maintain relationships with friends and family, otherwise I may realize after completing a project that I’ve been isolated and wonder where everyone has gone.

Villanelle is the most exceptional television character ever. Your ability to flawlessly imitate various accents, even within a single scene, is impressive. Does this indicate that you are skilled at impersonations? If yes, who are some people you can impersonate? – pegmiester

When I was nine or 10 years old, my biggest idol was Anastacia. Whenever my mom’s friends came over, I would confidently perform for them in the hallway.

Where do you store your accolades? Have you faced any challenges while transporting them during airport screenings? – Tessa

I haven’t had to go through the security process with them – I don’t bring them with me everywhere. They are simply on the floor in the living room. I am unsure of what to do with them. Should I place them in the downstairs bathroom? That seems a bit ostentatious: “Oh, check out my awards in the bathroom!”

Is there a talent that you desire to have, despite being already exceptionally talented? RachelC

There are many things I wish I could do, such as playing the piano and guitar, and being able to do the splits.

What was the specific moment you realised you wanted to be an actor? ValerieS23

At the age of 12, I participated in the Liverpool drama festival. We were divided into groups and each group had to present a monologue. My monologue was about the Hillsborough disaster and featured a young girl on the anniversary of her father’s death at a football match. It was the first time my dad had seen me act and he encouraged me by saying, “Just do your best.” I can still recall the expression on his face after I finished performing. The feeling of satisfaction I got from making my parents proud fueled my desire to continue pursuing acting.

What was your preferred elimination as Villanelle? Did you have the opportunity to retain any of the attire? SydniZ and Skg0103.

I have a vivid memory of the hairpin incident. It was the initial one. She extracted a syringe hairpin from her hair and used it to puncture someone’s eye. I held onto a few pairs of shoes. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable wearing her attire in public!

Do you prefer chips and gravy or chips and curry sauce? Matt08

I have a fondness for gravy, although it depends on my mood. However, I tend to prefer chips with curry sauce. Some may argue that gravy is a northern condiment, but I don’t believe in dividing people based on food preferences. We are all friends here.

Do you prefer winning an Academy Award or witnessing Everton’s victory in the league? Dixieboo
The Oscar is considered the pinnacle of acting. You receive one of them … but I think I have to say winning the league, purely to see the joy and elation on my dad and my brother’s faces.

How do you lift your spirits when you’re having a rough day or feeling low? Rachluvzstars

Listen to some tunes. Sip on a cup of tea. Enjoy a delicious chocolate cookie. Give my mom a call.

Is there anything new you would like to attempt, such as horror, comedy, romantic comedy, science fiction, or musical? Inexpensive and kiralabosky.

I am interested in creating science fiction projects that have a foundation in real-world concepts. I am particularly drawn to the style of Black Mirror. I also have a strong desire to work on a musical, and I am open to various genres as long as singing is involved. Perhaps a modern take on a classic production, although not Mary Poppins since it was recently done by Emily Blunt. Alternatively, a biographical film could be an exciting project. However, I don’t think a musical version of Killing Eve would be a good idea. Please do not spread that rumor.
