The Guardian’s list of the top 100 female football players in the world for 2023.

The sixth edition of the top 100 female footballers in the world has arrived, and the following judges served on this year’s panel.

Our group consists of highly esteemed and impactful individuals within the sport, such as NWSL title-winning coach Juan Carlos Amorós, Champions League champion coach Jonatan Giráldez, Serie A champion coach Alessandra Spugna, interim head coach of the USWNT Twila Kilgore, and many others.

We are fortunate to have a diverse group of well-known media figures and former professional players on our panel, including Izzy Christiansen, who won the Champions League and played for the England national team, Marith Müller-Prießen, a two-time Champions League winner, Sissi, a legendary player from Brazil, and Amy Walsh, who has played over 100 games for the Canadian national team. They are part of a panel of 112 judges who voted for the top 100 female footballers of 2023.

The top player of the year has been determined based on the votes received, following a thrilling World Cup hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

The countdown will commence on Tuesday, January 9th with numbers 100 to 71. On Wednesday, we will unveil numbers 70 to 41, followed by numbers 40 to 11 on Thursday, and the top 10 on Friday to conclude the list for this year.
